Sandstorm on the circuit at Sakhir

11 Jan 2005

On 11th January 2005, Scuderia Ferrari’s first test session of the season came to an end at Vallelunga. On the circuit named after Piero Taruffi, Luca Badoer had been on track for two days, at the wheel of an F2004. The long time official test driver to the Maranello squad covered a total of 192 laps of the track on the outskirts of Rome, doing 80 on the first day and 112 on the second. He was working on development of the Bridgestone tyres, as 2005 was the season in which changing tyres during the race was banned, as well as testing electronics. Badoer’s quickest lap was a 57”700.
