Maranello, 20 March – There was some good data collected by Antonio Fuoco at the end of the first test of the season in the GP3 Series. The Carlin driver took to the track for two days on the Portuguese circuit of Estoril, successfully completing the programme of work planned together with the team.
The young talent from Maranello’s Ferrari Driver Academy said: “The first day of testing was disrupted by the rain in the morning. But in the afternoon I managed to successfully complete a race simulation, setting the fastest time overall. On the second day I was fifth quickest at the end of the morning’s running. We waited a bit too long before we went out on the new tyres, but in the end I was only headed by drivers with more experience in the category. In the afternoon we completed race simulations with the team, trying to gain as much experience as possible on the new tyre compounds brought to the test by Pirelli. Overall the work with the team was excellent, I felt at ease with everyone. Now I can’t wait to get back to the track in the next test, which is scheduled for the middle of April at Valencia.”
