On 11th November 2010, Scuderia Ferrari announced, in its classic laconic manner, that Jules Bianchi would be a test driver as from the 2011 season. The FDA driver thus officially entered the world of the highest level of motor sport, although he had actually already driven a Ferrari F1 car as part of his training with the academy run by Luca Baldisserri. To date, his best result is a thirteenth place in the Malaysian Grand Prix.
