FDA – A hotbed of talent

Maranello, 27 March – Today, Sebastian Merchan, Gerardo Nieto and Veronica Valverde began a course at Maranello run by the Ferrari Driver Academy under the supervision of its head, Luca Baldisserri. The youngsters were all winners in the 2012 Panam GP Series, a South American championship with rounds in Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador and Chile. The Academy aims to support motor sport at national and international level by evaluating talented youngsters and over the next four days, this group will undergo physical and psycho-attitudinal tests, as well as experiencing a session on the simulator and studying technical matters in the class room. Rounding off what is bound to be an unforgettable experience, the three students will spend Saturday on track at Fiorano. They will be joined by an established member of the Maranello school, Raffaele Marciello, fresh from wins at Monza in the FIA Formula 3 championship, which he leads after the first round of the season.
