FDA – Meagre pickings for Fuoco at Norisring

Maranello, 29 June –Antonio Fuoco came away from the Norisring street circuit in Nuremberg, Germany with two points finishes in the FIA Formula 3 Championship.

The Ferrari Driver Academy student’s weekend got off to a difficult start, when he qualified 14th in the first session, prior to a race that last just 5 laps after a collision at the first corner. Race 2 was affected by rain and Fuoco, starting from the sixth row, managed a strong final push which saw him take the chequered flag in eighth place. The third and final race of the weekend saw Fuoco start from ninth and he managed to avoid an accident immediately after the start.

Picking his way around the chaos caused by a car stopped on track, the young Prema team driver was however then involved in a collision with another car which damaged his rear wing. After five laps behind the Safety Car, Antonio fought hard and just managed to hang on to ninth, even though his car was no longer handling properly.

is now fifth in the championship on 121 points. The leader is still his team-mate Esteban Ocon, who is now 304.
