FDA – No points for Marciello in Barcelona

Montmelò, 11 May –A brilliant fourth place in qualifying did not lead to good results for Raffaele Marciello in the second round of the GP2 series this weekend at the Catalunya circuit. “The first race of the weekend was very short for me,” commented the Ferrari Driver Academy student.

“I did not get away properly at the start, dropping from fourth to the middle of the pack. I could have moved back up, but at turn 10, I was hit by another car, which ended my race. Because of that, I had to start Race 2 from the back row and I couldn’t get any higher than sixteenth, not helped by annoying understeer. At least the race was useful to check the feeling I had from the starting system and this time it all went smoothly.”

Now the Racing Engineering driver is set to tackle round 3, at Monaco over the weekend of 25 May.
