FDA – Winning debut for Stroll

Maranello, 8 June –A win, a second place and a nice climb up the order from 20th to seventh place was the result of Lance Stroll’s maiden weekend in single-seater racing. The fifteen year old Canadian was an absolute contender in the first round of the brand new Italian Formula 4 Championship, held today at Italy’s Adria circuit. He won Race 1 and took a brilliant second in Race 2, which he started from tenth on the grid.

In Race 3 the Ferrari Driver Academy driver, at the wheel of his Prema Power Team, got caught out, stalling the engine which wiped out the advantage of starting from pole. He was 20th at the end of the opening lap and worked his way up to a great seventh place at the flag. After one round, Lance is second in the championship on 51 points, two less than Andrea Russo who won Race 3. The next round for these young drivers is on 26th June at the Enzo e Dino Ferrari circuit in Imola.
