Jerez de la Frontera, 27 January –There are now just a few hours to go to the F14 T’s track debut and the whole race team is already working at the track in Andalusia.
These are busy times as everything must be ready down to the smallest detail: there are only twelve days of testing before the start of the season and they are too precious to waste even a few hours with even trivial problems that could halt the track programme.
Furthermore, this first session in Jerez can be considered as a four day long shakedown. The 2014 cars are already very complex creations and will definitely take a few days running in before the usual development work can really get underway.
While awaiting Kimi Raikkonen’s first time behind the wheel of a Ferrari Formula 1 car since the 2009 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, today the entire team wanted to show once again the support it has for the driver and man who played such an important part in the history of the Scuderia, namely Michael Schumacher, who is still fighting the most important battle of his life.
During a break in the day, the Ferrari crew got together behind a board bearing the message #forzaMichael, the same one that has for many days now identified the page of the Ferrari websire where 72 messages from friends and colleagues of the German champion are being posted, one for each of his wins with the Maranello team.
Tomorrow, the hashtag will also adorn the F14 T, a sign of how much everyone at Ferrari and his fans from all four corners of the globe are thinking of Michael at this difficult time.
