Baldisserri: “A fantastic result”

Hockenheim, 19 October – With one race to go, Raffaele Marciello has today at Hockenheim won the FIA European Formula 3 Championship. In the two races held on the German track, the Ferrari Driver Academy student took a second and a fourth place, enough to win by the smallest margin of just half a point! However, that means he cannot be caught in the third and final race tomorrow morning by his only rival, Felix Rosenqvist who won both races today.

Of the 29 races run so far, Raffaele has won eleven of them and made it to the podium a further eight times, thanks to five second places and three thirds. “Today, Lello drove thinking mainly about managing his lead in the classification,” commented the director of the FDA, Luca Baldisserri, who followed today’s action from the pit wall with Team Prema. “The real him, we saw in Vallelunga, where he demonstrated how quick he can be when he is most under pressure. This is a fantastic result for the Ferrari Driver Academy, which can be added to the title won by Antonio Fuoco last week. Now however comes the difficult part: the closer you get to the top of the motorsport pyramid, the stiffer the competition. Tomorrow we will try and finish off the season in the best way possible and then work will start on being as well prepared as possible for next year. It will be important to make the right choices from every point of view.”
