Marciello tries GP2

Abu Dhabi, 4 November –Raffaele Marciello had two weeks in which to enjoy winning his first title in single-seaters and now he once again faces an important step for his future. The winner of the FIA European Formula 3 Championship is in Abu Dhabi where he will start three days testing at the wheel of a GP2 car tomorrow. Raffaele will drive the first two days for the Trident team and on the final one, he will switch to the Racing Engineering team.

The Abu Dhabi GP2 test follows on from the Formula Renault 3.5 test “Lello” took part in on 23 and 24 October in Barcelona as part of the orientation programme the engineers from the FDA have planned in order to help in choosing which direction to go in next season. Then, in just under two weeks, there will be another important racing event, the last one of the season. On 17 November, he will take part in the Formula 3 Grand Prix run on the Macau street circuit, which forms part of almost every driver’s education: it’s not by chance that no less than 15 of the 22 drivers who took part in yesterday’s Abu Dhabi Formula 1 Grand Prix have raced at the twisty track on the former Portuguese colony, now part of China. Will it prove auspicious for Lello?
